Here is an excellent Coca Cola commercial. It features a woman singing as she walks down the street giving away bottle of coca cola to the people that she meets. It’s a very light hearted song and it’s a real feel good commercial. It’s kind of a kin to I’d like to buy the world a coke.

Now you can withdraw money from your paypal account to your Philippines bank account through a visa debit card. Finally, Filipinos have full use of their paypal accounts. Not only can they pay of items with their Paypal account, now they can receive the money from their Paypal accounts. Yippee! Nice change for the better!

George and Peter Lines from Zamboanga

Recently I took a ferry trip on George and Peter Lines in the Philippines. I traveled between Zamboanga City and Cebu City. All in all, I would rate it a 4 on a scale of 1 to 5 in terms of quality of the trip. A trip report of the ferry cruise follows.

Mr Clean the Whirlpool

Mr Clean gets your clothes clean, yes in the Philippines, Mr Clean makes laundry detergent. Many Filipinos do not have access to washing machines and clothes are still washed by hand in pails. It’s very tedious and back breaking working and it’s an almost full time job for some moms. Not exactly the most fun washing clothes.

The Upward Spiral of the Peso

Not long ago, the pesos was pushing 55 pesos to the dollar and it seemed like the pesos had nowhere to go but 60 or 65 to the dollar. Prices very cheap for expats who had dollar income. Prices were cheap and the cost of living was quite low. Not anymore.
