My wife is from the Philippines and that means that we see many things Filipino on TV, from the Filipino Channel to the sappy videos that she orders off the net. It also means that since we saw the hosts on Good Morning America doing the Papaya Dance, we have to be gung ho for the Papaya Dance.

I think the world would be such a nicer place if we could all just start doing the Papaya Dance. This dance was first popularized in a game show hosted by my personal hero, Mr Liveraid Coffeemate himself, Edu Manzano. It’s just a funky little dance that just about anyone can do. It’s hilarious to watch and even more fun to do.

There is something about the Chicago Cubs. I remember watching their games growing up on WGN. That was back in the days of superstations. There was TBS with the Braves and WGN with the Cubs. I never really like the Braves so it was Harry Carey and the Chicago Cubs. It’s the Cubs that got me to fall in love with baseball. There is just something about the game and it’s excitement. As I have gotten older, I have still kept my love of the game and my love of the Cubs.

I remember my grandfather would always ride his motorcycle rain or shine, even in the winter. He used to deride those motorcyclists who would only ride when the weather was nice as fair weather riders. In his opinion, the mark of a real motorcyclist was someone who rode in every type of weather and in every season. It was someone who really enjoys the thrill of riding year round.

I haven’t written any travel tales or information articles in a while, but since it is Sinulog time in Cebu, The Philippines. I thought I would bring it up. Sinulog is a celebration of the famous Santo Nino which is supposedly an image of the Jesus as a baby or something like that. I assume it is a pretty important festival and celebration and most of all it is a very serious festival.

Vacations are always nice. I’ve mentioned that the way traveling by water via ferries and cruises can be such a relaxing experience. There is just something with sleeping on board a ship that is so relaxing. In fact, cruises can be one of the most relaxing things you do. Why? You are away from the hustle and bustle and you are left in a type of shared solitude that has been loved by people for generations. It’s a great experience you can only have onboard a ship.
